Dear IJP Families;

The combined band and choir winter concert took place Tuesday at Marian Catholic High School.  It was wonderful to see our students performing in the auditorium space.  I am thankful for our continued close relationship with Marian and with their generous offer to use their facilities. The students have come so far in such a short time and I am very proud of them.  The large crowd was very enthusiastic and I could definitely feel the Christmas spirit in the air.  Congratulations to all our students, Mrs. Barnick, and Mr. Gula on their combined effort!

NJHS is running a Sock Drive this last week of school to help out PADS as they distribute socks to people currently in the shelters. To participate, students may bring new pairs of adult socks to their Homerooms through Thursday, December 21st

An Intent to Return Form went home with your child today.  Please read the form carefully as it contains the tuition rates for the 2018-19 school year.  Due to the new Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship program, all Catholic schools need to publish their registration information much early than in the past.  These forms are due by next Wednesday, December 20th. No registration fee is being collected at this time.  We will finish our complete registration process starting the last week of January, during Catholic Schools Week 2018.

Please join us as we continue to celebrate the season with our annual Christmas program on Tuesday, December 19th at 7:00 pm in the Church.  Mrs. Barnick, the IJP choirs, musicians, actors, and all the students have been working very hard to present this year’s program.

The PTO sponsored Christmas Pizza Lunch is Thursday, December 21st.  Just a reminder that the kitchen is closed on that day.  Students may wear jeans, and a red, green or appropriate Christmas shirt to celebrate the last full day of the school year and the beginning of Christmas vacation. The school gym shoe policy still applies.

There will be No School on Friday, December 22nd. This is a change in the published school calendar as a teacher in-service was added.  Students will have a regular school day on Thursday, 12/21. There will be Extended Day Care before and after school on Thursday as well.

School resumes on Tuesday, January 9th.

Good Luck to all our sports teams who have games this weekend.

Peace to you this Advent season,

Natalie Formica
