Dear IJP Families;

The Illinois Invest in Kids Act, recently passed by the Illinois state legislature, was designed to create a more equitable formula for school funding. It includes a provision that has the potential to provide increased scholarship funding for families who choose to enroll their children at private schools. The provision allows individuals and corporations to donate to scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) and receive credit against their state taxes in return. The SGOs will then use the donated funds to grant scholarships to qualifying Illinois students to attend the private school of their choice.

Marian Catholic High School is a regional host site for a Tax Credit Scholarship Information session on Thursday, January 25th from 6 pm-8 pm.

Marian Catholic HS will also be a host site if you need assistance in the Student Application process on Wednesday, January 31st beginning at noon, and on Thursday, 2/1 from 3-8 pm, and Saturday, 2/3 from 9 am-noon.

PTO News

The IJP PTO is in need of volunteers interested in joining the Board. The PTO’s role is to offer programs and funds that will enrich and supplement the educational programs in place at IJP. We are able to do this by fundraising throughout the year. By joining the Board you have a voice in the activities and programs we offer.  You are able to connect with other parents throughout the IJP Community. And, you learn the difference we make in the students and teachers school experience each school year.

Catholic Schools Week will begin January 28th with the kick off of the Scholastic Book Fair after Masses. We will be looking for Volunteers to help throughout the week. We will also have a Fun Lunch on Friday February 2nd, information will be sent home on Monday.

Please contact Shannon Mayronne at slm15@comcast.net or (708) 768-6756 for more information.
