Dear IJP Families;
IJP School has a very active Facebook page and I invite you to “like” us and log on to enjoy the many photos and news events that are happening at the school each week. This week there are wonderful pictures from the Daddy-Daughter Dance, the Easter Art Project, and the little ones showing off their musical talent. You may also find links to the upcoming 5K and Kingsmen Cup Golf Outing!
Overall, we had a terrific winter sports season. Numerous teams brought back trophies from various tournaments. I appreciate all the dedicated volunteer coaches, coordinators and parents who help to make the athletic program run smoothly. The hours that are put in over the season are unbelievable. Most importantly, it is the time and effort that is spent teaching the student athletes about sportsmanship and being a good teammate that are lessons to last a lifetime. Thank you.
Please join us for All School Mass during this Lenten season. Mass is every Wednesday morning at 9 am. The students do a wonderful job preparing readings, intentions, and music for each Mass.
Hopefully your rice bowls are filling up! The annual Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl project is celebrating its 43rd anniversary this year. All change collected goes to support CRS programs around the world and here in our local Archdiocese. Continue your Lenten almsgiving and turn in your bowls to the school office by Wednesday, 3/28, before Easter break.
Our 8th grade will be presenting the Living Stations of the Cross to the student body on Thursday, March 29th at 10:45 am in the Church. If you have the opportunity, please attend this powerful event.
Showtime is quickly approaching! The IJP Spring Musical, Disney’s Mary Poppins goes live the weekend after we return from break. Come out and support the cast and crew.
Dates of Show: April 13th & 14th at 7:00 pm, doors open at 6:30 pm
Tickets: Floor - $7, Bleachers - $5, IJP Students - $3.
The 5th Annual Trek for Tech 5K Race is scheduled for April 28, 2018. Last year’s event was awesome and we are hoping even more school families will participate this year! To add extra excitement to the Trek, we are running a contest at school. The homeroom with the highest percentage of race registrations will win a super fun prize package: Jeans Day, Pizza Lunch at School, Afternoon at the Park and an Ice Cream Treat! Registrations can include students, family members, and any friends or neighbors who sign up with you. Forms were sent home with students and may be copied. They will also be located on the IJP website or may be picked up at school.
The tentative 2018-2019 school calendar has been posted on the school website under “Current Students”, “Forms and Links”. This is a skeleton calendar with start and end dates and school break dates for your use in planning. We are still planning for next year so, as always, the tentative calendar is subject to change.
As we continue our Lenten journey, my thoughts and prayers are with all our families as we make our way to the celebration of Resurrection.
