Dear IJP Families;
We have had a very busy week around school of the extra-curricular nature! Coming off last Friday’s successful Art Show, the Choir Concert on Tuesday was beautiful, upbeat, and fun! The Show Choir did some great numbers and the full choir had an amazing amount of talented harmonies in their performance. Congratulations to all our fine and performing arts students this year. The band, choir, drama and art students have done an amazing job. The all-school field trip to the Windy City Thunderbolts game was a success! We had two students chosen to participate in on-field activities and they did a wonderful job! Also, the 8th grade continued their end of the year festivities with a trip to Great America today and the Kindergarten hosted their annual Lemonade Stand project that helps reinforce the concept of counting and exchanging money. Whew!
A reminder that all Walk-a-Thon pledge money should be turned in to the school office by this Monday so you are eligible for the prize raffle and so we may tally our fundraising efforts. We are grateful for everyone who participated!
Chromebook turn-in for 6th and 7th grade will take place next week. 6th grade will turn in their Chromebooks on Thursday, May 25th and 7th grade turn in will take place on Friday, May 26th. Please make sure your student has their Chromebook, charger, and case on that day. If there is anything wrong with the Chromebook/charger/case, it needs to be reported to Mrs. Bohne at that time so repairs can be done. Please completely empty the cases and make sure you take any USB devices out of the Chromebook.
At this point of the school year, all tuition should be paid in full. Please check your records for last payments and make arrangements for final outstanding fees for Extended Day and lunch balances. The new 10-month plan for the 2017-18 school year begins in July. Registration and Packet Turn-in date will be Tuesday, July 11th. All information packets will be sent home with your student at the end of the school year. Stay tuned! **NEW** for next year, the mandatory fundraising fee/program will be run a different way. There will be Raffle Tickets in your Registration Packet that will be due on Registration Day as well. A more detailed explanation letter will accompany the tickets and an all-school call will be made to remind you to check the registration packet as soon as you receive it.
There will be Extended Day on the last day of school, June 2nd. Before and After Care will be at the regular time. The last day of school is a full day with regular lunch periods and classes.
As summer vacation quickly approaches, an additional reminder for your calendar and planning needs: School Office Summer Hours for the summer are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am-11:30 am beginning June 12th. The School Office will be closed the week of July 23rd.
The updated, tentative 2017-18 School Calendar is posted under “Current Students, Forms and Links”. The last day of school and graduation date for next year has changed since the first posting. Please check if you are making long-term plans.
Please hold all our graduates in your prayers this coming week. The Kindergarten students “graduate” on Tuesday evening, May 23rd; the 8th Grade Awards and Dance are on Wednesday, and Graduation Mass is on Thursday, the 26th. As we celebrate and reflect on beginnings and endings next week, may God bless all our students!
